It was a very Penn State weekend, and for Hawkeye fans, none of the news was good. Joe Paterno passed away on Sunday, the #22 Nittany Lion Women's basketball team had their way with Lisa Bluder's lady Hawkeyes in the 2nd half, and the #1 ranked PSU Wrestling squad whipped #3 Iowa to hand the grapplers their 2nd-straight dual loss, and 3rd of the season. Men's Hoops has a few more days off until they host Nebraska on Thursday night, plus a lot of football recruiting news, and headlines from Track and Field, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, and Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving. Iowa is the last Big Ten team to NOT have a full slate of football coordinators, and the player retention problem continues with the departure of A.J. Derby. A couple JuCo recruits join the team at the start of the spring semester, DJK is hired by the Iowa Barnstormers, and Hayden Fry wins the Bear Bryant Award. Men's Basketball had a huge win over #13 Michigan last Saturday, then a tough road loss at Purdue on Tuesday night, but will have over a week to work before the next game.
Women's Hoops get a win over the Badgers, Wrestling has a couple ranked opponents this weekend, plus news from Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving, Track and Field, and Women's Tennis. On Iowa!!

Friday the 13th is not particularly unlucky for the Hawkeyes, as Iowa's Fran McCaffery holds a press conference to talk about tomorrow's game vs. #13 Michigan, and doesn't regret manhandling a folding chair at Michigan State, even though it was caught on camera. In Football news, another commit for the Hawks, and former RB Jewel Hampton is going pro. All that plus headlines from Women's Hoops, Wrestling, Men's and Women's Golf, and Softball. Go Hawks!!

More details come out about Marcus Coker, but the UI remains silent, and it's next to impossible that he'll return to Iowa. In better football news, another player makes his verbal commitment to the Hawks, and four of Iowa's seniors will be playing in all-star games to prepare for the NFL Draft. Men's Basketball hosts #13 Michigan this Saturday, Fran meets the press today, and PTI talks about his chair slam from Tuesday. Lisa Bluder also holds a press conference, while her lady Hawks push through their 3-pt shooting slump, plus news from Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Spirit Squads, Track and Field, Softball, and Volleyball. On Iowa!!

Another crappy day for news if you're a Hawkeye fan. Marcus Coker is leaving the Football program, leaving big question marks heading into the 2012 season. Iowa Men's Basketball got slammed in East Lansing by over 30 points last night (as well as a folding chair at the hands of head coach Fran McCaffery), and heads home this weekend to take on Michigan, their 3rd consecutive ranked foe. Freshman Aaron White remains a bright spot on the Hawkeye team, coming off the bench for double figures...again. One Iowa Wrestler is named wrestler of the week, while another wrestles with medical school, plus news from Women's Basketball, Women's Swimming and Diving, and Track and Field. On Iowa!!

Former Hawk Chad Greenway is picked for his first Pro Bowl, and ESPN power-ranks the 2011 Big Ten for the last time. Men's Basketball heads east to the Breslin Center to take on top-25 Michigan State. The Hawks haven't won in East Lansing since 1993.
