Its OK, eh. I thought it was funny.
I still maintain most democrats, from what I have read, want many of the things you set forth. The key is finding the balance between securing the borders, not rewarding misconduct, but dealing with the reality of who is already here. I think you and I are not far apart on this issue at all H-Man.
From what I have seen, "Multiculturalism" and "Assimilation" are very tough words to define and often used either favorably or pejoratively based on context and the POV of the speaker. Both concepts have value depending on exactly what is meant.
Such as "I am Locutus of Borg. You will be assimilated"
Edit: I wasn´t even close on the spelling of "Locutus" so I went to a TNG website to verify.

Donny, you are right on about the mainstream media. That´s what I have tried to say on here for months, but I was probably too strident, because my career has been as part of that mainstream media. But it is simply the truth. You can completely separate the "mainstream" from the networks and the NYTimes, et. al. on political "bias."
On immigration, I agree with Lunch on several of his posts. It is trouble for the future of our nation if something isn´t done on a scale above what Bush espouses. I don´t have all the answers, but I do know history has precedents for this "silent invasion" and those precedents never turn out well for the host country. Look at Europe. They are already to the point that it cannot be controlled because of their governments´ weak backbones, kowtowing and appeasement.

DD, as for the public, the polls do show that the majority want clear laws that are enforced. But, it is the Dem leadership, who is very dogmatic and all about making political hay that is trying to vilify the GOP and muddy a resolution up. Look at this, this is completely unnecessary from Harry Reid.
