Game Day routine: Living so far from Kinnick, I usually get up on Saturday morning, grab a litle breakfast, try and negotiate a reprieve from the honey-do list, and sit down to watch the game. For the past couple of seasons, every Iowa football game has been televised here in Huskerland (we've even gotten them to pull a Big XII game in favor of Iowa)
First Hawkeye Memory: Watching the Amana Hawkeye classic in the old field house. Dad took us, and the place was rockin'.
Favorite Hawkeye Memory: I had the chance to be in the color guard (the snappy dressers carrying the flags out before kickoff) for one game in late 1989. Before the game, Coach Fry came over and gave a long look up and down, and kind of nodded his approval, and then chatted with us a bit. He's every bit as down-home and sociable as everybody says.
Favorite Player(s): Steve Carfino, BJ Armstrong, Bob Sanders, Nate Kaeding
The most important rivalry: Moo U. No doubt about it. Even Hy-Vee recognizes that fact!
The team, even if they do not play the Hawks, who should always lose: Nebraska. Fortunately, they've been pretty accomodating for the last couple of years...
Moving closer to Iowa City would be a wonderful thing, so if you know anybody in Eastern Iowa looking to hire a software developer/Hawk fan away from the phone company, please send them my way :)
